Product Description
2" Hitch Wedge, this little wonder does a big job. It does double duty by holding your hitch gear tight & your PIN.

I wanted to eliminate the bounce in my bike rack and thought that this device would do that for me. Well, I put it on and tightened it down, but my bike rack still moved up & down. So, I tightened it further and the black "metal" bracket snapped in half. It didn't bend (like I assumed metal would), it simply broke in half. I would not recommend this item until it's built with a more resilient material. Actually, I don't think I would recommend it even then because it didn't seem to stop my bike rack from bouncing.

I thought this would work but your hitch bar will still move up and down.

A single unit does reduce play but I could still easily move the hitch bar up and down which surprised me. I was able to remove it one time. When they say it also acts as an anti theft device, they are correct. Even after I backed off the nut, I could not remove my pin or remove the wedge. You will have to carry something to tap your pin out so it will releave the tension on it. This was my experience with a Valley/Uhaul hitch.

On the second try I figured I would make it tighter to see if it would stop the bar from moving.
I tried to tighten it more and the way this unit cocks on an angle to wedge in. made the nut get stuck at the end threads. I tried to get it off and the eyebolt just sheared off.

I returned for a refund which was granted. If they made the bolt stronger maybe I would rate it a little higher.

1 out of 5 stars Didn't fit at all   June 28, 2010

We bought this to get rid of some excess play on our camper/bike hitch. In theory, it looks like it works well, but the guarantee it works on 100% of hitches is crap. We have a bumper hitch adapter for the camper and a Swagman bike rack. The "No Rattle Hitch Stabalizer" will not work with this combination. The eye bolt will not reach. I'll keep to see if it works with other hitch combinations when we finish our camping trip.

I ordered 2 of these items for our upcoming trip to FL. One was retuned, and replaced by Amazon, because it broke on installation.

So today, June 25th, I went to re-install on my hitch basket. The first one broke upon tightening to eliminate the hitch rattle. No problem you say because I have a spare. When installing the second one, it also broke.

The part that is supposed to engage the trailer hitch to eliminate the hitch rattling is made of what looks like white metal, very weak and cannot stand the pressure of tightening the bolt.

Now I'm have a problem. Amazon will no longer accept a return, date expired,

Good idea, just poor materials. Look for something better.

3 out of 5 stars Great idea, not quite as strong as I had hoped   May 27, 2010

The idea of this product is great. If the wedge and eye bole were made out of hardened steal it would be much better. When I tightened the nut down I ended up breaking the wedge and bending the bolt with out even applying too much pressure.
