Product Description There's a reason that Yakima calls them "Universal" MightyMounts. These little marvels let you fit just about any Yakima accessory to your factory roof rack bars. A set of them is mighty nice to have. Soft, grippy Dynaflex pads protect your crossbars and hold the Mighty Mounts firmly in place. Universal design lets you move your racks and accessories from vehicle to vehicle with no hassle. Sold in a set of four, no tools required for assembly. The Accessory Lock Housings and SKS Lock Cores add additional security (sold separately)..

A Mighty Mount pain in my booty ... July 25, 2010 Winona Dennis (The Wild, Wild West) I had to order the Mighty Mounts b/c the standard mounts that come with Yakima's High Roller will not fit on newer Subaru racks (Subaru's new factory racks - which many Subarus now come equipped with), yet I was told by a Yakima rep they would. No way did the standard mounts fit my rack. I called again, and another rep told me I had to by Yakima's Universal Mighty Mounts to enable the High Roller to be installed on my Subaru racks. I was assured the Mighty Mounts would be an easy install w/ my racks and the High roller. Nope. Doubt the rep has ever tried to install the Mighty Mounts on the new Subaru racks. Hired someone at a local pro shop to install them after I had trouble, and even he had a lot of trouble (A LOT!), especially since you have to intall them backwards so the High Roller doesn't interfere with the Subaru hatch-back. Then I got conflicting info from the manual AND from a Yakima rep about what the weight limit is for the High Roller. Apparently, when installed with the Might Mounts, the weight limit is 30 pounds. An awful lot of bikes weigh more than 30 pounds. I don't feel very safe with this product. My bike sways. A lot of Subaru drivers buy Yakima products. The company needs to be more forthcoming with info. Giving the High Roller two stars, and the Mighty Mounts one star.
Weak support for a single bike June 4, 2010 Peter J. Davis (Elizabethtown, PA) I purchased the Yakima Universal MightyMounts for a single bike mount used on a car factory rack. The small plastic connector between the MightyMount and the bike rack proved to be quite unsturdy. The trip was spend watching my bike sway back and forth in the wind. I haven't used the mounts since. They seem much better suited to something with four points of contact (ski rack, luggage rack, etc..) than something with only two points of contact (bike mount).
Yakima Universal Mighty Mount September 4, 2009 F. Bristol This is a good mount for any or most of factory installed roof rack, I have a Yakima Raptor and a Toyota Sienna. I was able to install it very well. No shaking or anything bad. Never had any problems. You just have to install it properly. Just use your common sense. Very well recommended.
Waste of time August 20, 2009 Rick B. (Montreal, QC Canada) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was going to order vehicle specific MightyMounts then at the last second considered the Universal ones for only $10 more, thinking flexibility should I ever change cars or even decide to sell/lend my rack. Problem was that when I opened the box and looked at the instructions it said NOT FOR USE with Kayak Stacker and Anklebiter racks. Imagine my frustration since I bought these for use with a Yakima Anklebiter bike carrier. The product has been returned, and I'm waiting for my refund.
Not Strong Enough September 5, 2008 Jason (Detroit, MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to carry my nephew's 20" bike. The first problem was the installation. The manual doesn't include instructions for mounting a Raptor. I emailed Yakima, they sent me the same instructions I already had. I got the Raptor installed, but it rides real high and is not sturdy. It says maximum weight of 30 lbs. I put my bike up there and was truly scared. I'm sure it will be ok with my nephew's 20" bike, but anything bigger won't go. I am going to go with the landing pad set-up for this application. (2008 Chevy Trailblazer)
